GharBaar has three rooms.
Not three identical boxes with different coloured walls. Three rooms that were each designed to feel like something, to have a personality, a reason and a mood.
Here’s what they are and who they’re for.
The Timber Room
The Timber Room is warm in the way that a really good blanket is warm.
We built the bed ourselves, a low pallet bed that sits close to the ground, the kind that makes you feel like you’re wrapped in the room rather than just placed inside it. The wall behind it is a deep, earthy green. Not trendy green. Warm green. The kind that makes the wood feel more like wood and the light feel softer than it is.
It’s a room that doesn’t ask anything of you. You come in, you get in bed, and something in you unclenches.
The Timber Room is for anyone who needs to feel held for a little while.
The Melody Room
The Melody Room doesn’t announce itself. It lets you discover it.
You’ll notice the CD wall first. Then the records, not framed, not displayed, but actually hung on the wall as hooks, doing the job of holding your things the way they once held music. Then the red tape player sitting on the shelf. Then Barbara Streisand watching you from her portrait on the wall.
The steel grey walls could have felt cold. They don’t. They feel like a recording studio at 2am, focused, alive, a little electric.
This is a room for people who think in music. Who have a song for every mood. Who will immediately understand why Barbara Streisand is on that wall without being told.
The Blush Room
The Blush Room exists because of a very specific feeling.
You know the one. The moment as a kid when you decided you didn’t like pink, not because you didn’t like the colour, but because of everything that came with it. The assumption. The reduction. The way liking pink was supposed to mean something about how seriously you wanted to be taken.
The Blush Room is the correction.
It’s pink, completely and unapologetically, for the women who have spent enough time pretending they’re above it and are done with that now. For the girls reclaiming their girlhood. For anyone who knows that loving pink was never the problem.
Come in. Flaunt it.
How to Choose
You don’t have to overthink it.
If you want warmth and quiet, book the Timber Room. If you want a room with a soul and a record player, it’s the Melody Room. If you want to spend a weekend being completely, unabashedly yourself, pink and all, the Blush Room is waiting.
All three rooms are private. All three come with chai on the house. All three are in Badar Commercial, DHA Phase 5, Karachi, close enough to everything, far enough from the noise.
